It's a German engineered all-in-one kitchen robot that will blow your mind and change the way you eat and cook. It combines over 20 different functions into one appliance so you can say goodbye to your blender, your mixer, your food processor, your slow cooker, your coffee grinder, your kitchen scale, etc. It truly is amazing! This little marvel turned me from an "ok cook" to a "gourmet cook."
What can you do with a Thermomix?
- Mix, blend, and knead ingredients. It's perfect for making bread and pizza dough, batters, sauces, dressings, and so much more! The kneading function is incredible! Try the brioche burger buns recipe, they are delicious!
- Cook, simmer, boil, steam, and sauté ingredients to perfection. Making liquid caramel has never been so easy!
- Measure/weigh ingredients as you add them to a recipe, so you don't need to pre-measure anything. Good bye, measuring cups!
- Chop vegetables, grind nuts and spices, and crush ice. It saves so much time compared to manual chopping or grinding! (Think a whole bunch of parsley chopped in about 5 seconds)
- Blend and emulsify to create smoothies, soups, purees, sauces, dressings and make your own mayonnaise! The spicy mayo is divine!
- Steam, which allows to cook food gently and preserve its nutrients. There's a steaming basket, which fits inside the mixing bowl, and also a bigger dish and tray, so you can steam vegetables, fish, chicken, and even cakes! You can do layer cooking with it (for example, soup in the mixing bowl, while steaming fish in the basket and veggies in the tray.)
One of my favorite features of the Thermomix is Cookidoo, a library of more than 100,000 pre-programmed recipes from all over the world. The step-by-step guidance, automatic temperature control and timers for the recipes, make it super easy to follow along and achieve consistent results. All you have to do is add the ingredients the recipes call for and turn the knob to the requested speed! It can't get any easier than that!
